Ukraine threatens to reduce transit of Russian gas

Naftogaz Ukraine may reduce volumes of transit of natural gas if Gazprom continues cut of gas supplies to Ukraine. Naftogaz commented on statement of official representative of Gazprom Sergey Kupriyanov on another cut of gas supplies to Ukraine today.

Naftogaz informs that it can guarantee regular transit of gas to European consumers until it threatens energy security of Ukraine. If Gazprom continues violating technical agreement between two companies, reducing volumes of supplies of Asian gas to Ukraine, Naftogaz will resort to protection actions,” the press release of Naftogaz says.

Naftogaz considers that restrictions of gas supplies to Ukraine contradicts main principle of technical conditions of relations between companies.

As a reminder, yesterday Gazprom reduced gas supplies to Ukraine because of debts.

Today at 8 p.m. Russia is going to reduce gas supplies to Ukraine by 25% more. Official representative of “Gazprom” said that today at the press conference.
