Russia does not pay for transit

Russia does not pay for transit

First vice PM Olexander Turchynov said that Russia failed to pay for gas transit since December of last year. In turn, official representative of “Gazprom” Sergey Kupriyanov stated that Ukraine had not sent the bill.

“Such situation is caused by Naftogaz Ukraine itself. It does not sign acts on transit volume for December 2007 and January 2008 and does not submit bills. Gazprom cant make payment for transit in time without having any bills,” Kupriyanov said.

As a reminder, yesterday energy standoff between Russia and Ukraine deepened after Gazprom reduced gas supplies to Ukraine because of debts.

In turn Ukrainian side stated that it had no debts to gas mediators. Debt in amount of 5.2 milliard was paid off. But at the same time Ukraine did not admit 414 million from that sum which were calculated for gas supplied in 2006 at prices of 2007.
