President drives tank

Within the framework of his visit to Chernihiv region President Victor Yushchenko visited the 1st tank unit of the 8th army corpse, located in Honcharivske village, president's press office reported.

During the visit to the unit President was informed about its missions, organization, and staff. He was also shown equipment used by the unit, as well as new domestically produced weaponry including T-64 BM “Bulat” tanks.

After that at the training ground President observed a final stage of shooting competition for the best platoon commander of the unit. He has also driven one of the tanks at traning ground with its crew. Following the competition Yushchenko presented memorable watches to members of tank crew.
