Gazprom made new ultimatum to Ukraine

Gazprom made new ultimatum to Ukraine

Yesterday Russian gas monopoly “Gazprom” renewed threats to cut gas supplies to Ukraine. Gasprom intends to reduce supplies by 25% on Monday if Ukraine’s government does not regulate controversies with it.

“Gazprom” made Ukraine such ultimatum after some hours of telephone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Viktor Yushchenko. That conversation was initiated by Russian side.

According to official representative of “Gazprom” Sergey Kupriyanov, 1.9 milliard cubic meters of unpaid gas is in Kyiv.

On February 8 “Gazprom” had already announced about cut of gas supplies to Ukraine but due to negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Viktor Yushchenko, the cut of gas supplies was managed to be avoided.
