EU calls People’s deputies to forget personal ambitions

EU calls People’s deputies to forget personal ambitions

President of the European Parliament Hans-Gert Pottering calls Ukrainian politicians to think about the country but not about personal ambitions.

“My advice to politicians is to think about the country but not about who will be the next candidate to president or parliament in 2-3 years. We call our colleagues, our friends in Kyiv to work for benefit of Ukraine,” he said.

He also added that the more successful Ukrainian politicians would be in this process, the more chances there would be for approach of Ukraine to the EU. According to Pottering, they must work for Ukraine, not only for political parties. First and foremost there are interests of the country and only then – personal ambitions.
