On Friday, February 22, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko met with representatives of the Japanese Business Federation Keidanren.
Yulia Tymoshenko welcomed the first joint session of the Committee for Economic Cooperation between Ukraine and Japan, which took place on Friday, and expressed her hope that it would provide a new impulse to economic relations between Ukraine and Japan, press service of Yulia Tymoshenko informed.
Participants discussed a range of issues on future bilateral cooperation.
Tymoshenko announced her government’s intentions to hold open, honest and transparent privatization of energy and communications enterprises and ensure access for international investors, especially Japanese.
In addition, Yulia Tymoshenko informed that the Ukrainian government is interested in the experience of Japanese companies in building roads and infrastructure. “Such cooperation is all the more pressing in connection with holding Euro-2012 in Ukraine,” Tymoshenko said.
Tymoshenko also stated that she believes cooperation with Japan is possible in terms of providing new long-term loans for the State Mortgage Institution for financing programs for building accessible and quality housing.
