Turchynov wants joint gas enterprise to be mutually beneficial

The government of Ukraine analyzes the proposition of Russia concerning creation of joint enterprise of “Naftogaz of Ukraine” and “Gazprom” for realization of deliveries of natural gas to Ukraine. First vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Olexander Turchynov stated today at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers.

“We analyze this question and what will be the best to improve the situation, but not to preserve it under another name. This is the question of principle for us,” Turchynov said.

The first vice PM has emphasized that in case of joint enterprise formation Russia and Ukraine have to elaborate the mutually beneficial scheme, which will include not only the deliveries, but also the gas transit through the territory of Ukraine. “When we speak about joint enterprise, we can’t speak only about gas deliveries to the inner market. We must speak about gas transit over the territory of Ukraine, and our country must gain profit. This is normal and mutually beneficial approach,” he noted.
