President met with German Foreign Minister


President Viktor Yushchenko met today with German Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier. President's press office reports.

During the meeting parties discussed bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Germany and shared thoughts on a number of international topics. Viktor Yushchenko expressed a wish to stir up political cooperation between the countries on the highest political level by holding sixth round of Ukrainian-German political consultations this year.

Speaking about Ukraine’s NATO membership aspirations the President appealed to the German side to support country’s claim for accession to NATO Membership Target Plan during NATO Bucharest Summit.
