Turchynov considers Russia will not cut off gas supplies to Ukraine

On February 11 gas supplies to Ukraine will not be cut off. First vice PM Olexander Turchynov stated that today at the press conference, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

“Gas will be supplied!” he said decidedly, commenting on yesterday’s statement of Gasprom on overdue debt in amount of 1.5 milliard dollars.

Turchynov assumed that “UkrGasEnergo” has likely not paid to “RosUkrEnergo”, and “RosUkrEnergo” in turn has not paid to “Gasprom”. And now “Gasprom” demands Ukraine to pay overdue debt of mediator.

“The government intends to solve problem on mediators who parasitize on gas market. We will hold negotiations on transformation to direct agreements without any mediators,” Turchynov stated.

As a reminder, yesterday official representative of “Gasprom” Jsc. Sergey Kupriyanov stated that Russian monopolist can cut off gas supplies to Ukraine from February 11 of the current year, in case in the near future Ukraine does not pay overdue debts in amount of 1.5 milliard dollars.
