Ukraine to launch negotiations on direct gas supplies


"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Joint Stock Company (NJSC) “Naftohaz of Ukraine” shall launch negotiations with gas supplier-states on turning to direct supplies,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko stated yesterday, government's press service reported.

Yulia Tymoshenko noted at a deliberation on financial performance of NJSC “Naftohaz of Ukraine” yesterdat in Kyiv that the protocol instruction to MFA and NJSC “Naftohaz” includes such paragraph on the results of deliberation.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NJSC “Naftohaz of Ukraine” with participation of the Prime Minister to launch negotiations with supplier-states for turning to direct contracts of “Naftohaz of Ukraine” with these countries on gas supply excluding mediatory structures,” the Head of Government read out the first item of the protocol instruction.
