Yushchenko calls VRU to compromise

President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko stated on necessity to deblock the work of the VRU and hold plenary session of the VRU on February 5 in normal regime. He stated that today in scope of the meeting with the chairman of the VRU and leaders of parliamentary factions.

“My aim is to see parliament working,” the President says.

The President hopes preliminary consultations will be a beginning of constructive cooperation of factions and work of the session in whole.

The President calls to reach compromise on issues which prevent parliament from work. The matter concerns letter on readiness of Ukraine to join Action plan concerning membership in NATO and also on situation between Lutsenko and Chernovetsky. President also called on compromise on formation of agenda of the first day of the second VRU session of VI convocation.

Yushchenko also confirmed his intention to make his annual speech on internal and foreign position of Ukraine in the parliament on the first day of the VRU session and asked to put it on parliament agenda.
