Yushchenko met with Karzai

President Viktor Yushchenko met today with the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai. President's press office reports.

During the meeting Presidents focused mainly on discussing economic, military and energy cooperation between the countries.

Yushchenko stressed that Ukraine possesses much potential to participate in rebuilding and development of the Afghan energy complex, in reconstructing civil and transport infrastructure, etc. There are possibilities to establish cooperation in electric energy field as well.

Both Presidents spoke for stirring up the dialogue between the states aimed at bringing Ukrainian-Afghan relations to a new level. Yushchenko also reaffirmed his invitation to H. Karzai to visit Ukraine this year.
