Ukrainian will be informed about NATO

Foreign Ministry of Ukraine initiates monitoring of public opinion concerning membership in NATO. Deputy director of NATO department of Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Viktor Nedopas informed today at the press conference.

According to him, such monitoring is planned to be carried out only by means of state budget.

“Nobody is going to agitate only for accession to NATO. The task is people to get information about position and negative consequences in order to make their choice consciously,” he said.

Answering the journalists question how Ukraine’s accession to NATO threatens Russia, he replied that Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is ready to negotiate with Russia concerning such threats in case Russia makes its statements definite.

“In case Ukraine’s membership in NATO makes any threats to Russia, lets consider these threats, but only after Russia explains in what way it threatens,” he said.
