Taylor forecasts that no country of NATO to use veto

Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the USA William Taylor predicts that no country of NATO will use veto right on request of Ukraine to join the Membership Action Plan.

In particular, yesterday Taylor stated about readiness of some states to support request of Kyiv on joining the Membership Action Plan.

“I can name these countries, but I would like their representatives to state this openly,” Taylor said, noting that at present there is “enhanced discussion” of Ukrainian request in NATO.

Tailor considers that events in the VRU must not influence the decision on Ukraine’s joining the Membership Action Plan. According to him, the “single decision” of all countries-members of the alliance is necessary, but at the same time every country has the right to use veto. “But I don’t think that there will be a country which will put a veto upon the request,” Taylor suggested.
