President met with Condoleezza Rice

Within the framework of his visit to Davos, Switzerland President Viktor Yushchenko met with the United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, president's press office reported.

Participants of the meeting discussed Ukrainian-American bilateral relations, Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the country, Ukraine’s joining the WTO, internal political processes in our state, preparation of President’s George Bush visit to Ukraine.

President expressed gratitude to the United States for showing active support to Ukraine in question of joining the WTO.

C. Rice from her part positively opined on the political processes in Ukraine and expressed hopes that democratic transformation within our country continues. She also affirmed that American side shall participate in Kyiv Energy Summit on the high level in May 2008.Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko also took part in the meeting.
