NATO Secretary General has doubts concerning Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer has doubts that Ukraine will join the Plan of actions concerning membership in the alliance and calls upon Ukrainian authorities to prolong present program of intensified dialog. He stated yesterday in Brussels at the annual meeting with journalists.

Scheffer has said that he knows the results of the summit of the North Atlantic alliance in Bucharest in April, 2008 concerning Ukraine, and Georgia.

Shcheffer pays his attention that new government has been formed in Ukraine, with which NATO has not yet established a contact. “But it will take place soon,” NATO Secretary General expressed his hope.
