Tymoshenko initiates transfer to hourly pay for miners work

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko demands to ensure the transfer from piece rate pay to hourly pay in the coal branch. She has stated today at the meeting concerning problems solutions caused by accident at Zasyadko coal mine.

“Zasyadko coal mine must become the first where the hourly pay for miners work will be implemented. Maybe, piecework is more interesting for the owner of the coal mine and for the Sate as it has become a norm to hurry up scopes of production in the coal branch,” Tymoshenko said.

The Head of the Government has charged the Ministry of Coal industry together with the trade unions and public organizations in a week to elaborate the corresponding documents for transfer to hourly pay for work.

“Maybe, the volume of coal production will decrease but this is price which we must pay for safety of miners work,” Tymoshenko emphasized.
