Tymoshenko held telephone conversation with Saakashvili


Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko held telephone conversation with Mikhail Saakashvili and congratulated him on holding free, democratic and fair presidential election of Georgia. Government's press service reports.

Yulia Tymoshenko believes that power of Georgia had proved again that trust of the people, expressed under conditions of fair political competitiveness, could be reliable basis of stability and strengthening of statehood.

“We know it perfectly well in Ukraine, how important for all responsible politicians to respect a democratic choice of their people,” the Ukrainian Prime Minister stressed.

Yulia Tymoshenko is confident that Saakashvili’s victory in presidential election will give a new impulse for carrying out further economic and social reforms, ensure strengthening of law supremacy and modernization of the whole country based on the European principles and values.

The PM of Ukraine assured that Georgia can rely on all-round support of Ukraine in future.

In his turn, President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili has thanked for sincere and kind words and invited Head of Ukrainian Government Yulia Tymoshenko to Tbilisi for inauguration ceremony, scheduled for 20 January of this year.
