EC prepares for negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to Energy commonwealth


The European Commission prepares the propositions concerning necessary steps for formal negotiations on accession of Moldova, Norway, Turkey and Ukraine to the Energy commonwealth. It is said in the letter from the General Secretary of the European Commission to Supreme representative of the EU on common foreign policy and safety policy Havier Solana.

The key propositions of the European Commission for the sitting of the Council of Ministers of the Energy commonwealth are stated in the letter. It is also noted that the Commission will be ready to perform such propositions depending on the decision of the Council concerning the assignment of mandate on negotiations on accession to the Energy commonwealth.

The sitting of the Council of Ministers of the Energy commonwealth will take place on December 18 in Belgrade.
