Yushchenko: Ukraine solved issue on accession to the WTO


Ukraine has signed bilateral protocol with Kyrgyzstan concerning Ukraine’s accession to the WTO and by the end of the current year should obtain right to be a member of this organization. President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko said that yesterday in scope of the meeting with expatriates Ukrainian and representatives of Ukrainian community in Israel.
In particular, Yushchenko noted that Ukraine has solved question on accession to the WTO, having signed protocol with Kyrgyzstan.

“In such a way all procedural moments are solved,” he said, adding that at the next WTO council session on December 15-20 Ukraine will be joined the WTO officially.

Ukraine tries to join the WTO since 1993. in 2005-2006 the VRU adopted 38 legislation acts necessary for accession to the WTO. On May 31, 2007 the VRU adopted last 11 laws necessary for joining the WTO.
