Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called to refrain from “appraisal” statements concerning Ukraine’s past

Foreign Ministry of Ukraine noted that “appraisal” expressions of Russian ambassador Viktor Chernomyrdin concerning warriors of Ukrainian Rebel Army and Holodomor 1932-11933, given by him in an interview to ”Vremya novostey” on Friday, do not correspond to diplomacy principles. “Foreign Ministry pays attention to that expert estimations concerning past of the country and its domestic policy life do not correspond to diplomatic practice,” the comments of foreign department of Ukraine said.

“Ukrainian political and scientific elites as well as society are able without additional comments, based on ideological and stereotype principles, to qualify historical-public events of their people,” the press service of Foreign Ministry said.

Foreign Ministry of Ukraine called to refrain from statements and actions that can have negative influence on development of good neighboring relations between Ukraine and Russia.
