President met with PM of Romania


President Victor Yushchenko met with Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu in Bucharest on Wednesday, President’s press office reports.

Two leaders spoke about how to develop Ukraine’s economic, border and regional cooperation with Romania. Ukraine wants to reequip and build border crossing stations along its border with Romania and also implement joint projects to develop energy transport infrastructure.

Yushchenko and Popescu also discussed visa and national minority issues.

The Ukrainian leader said his country appreciated Romania’s support for its EU and NATO membership bid and urged Romania to recognize the Great Famine of 1932-1933 as genocide.
