Foreign Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with State Secretary of the USA Condoleezza Ricein in the framework of the 62 session of the General assembly of the UNO in New York.
During the meeting Yatsenyuk and Rice discussed the political situation in Ukraine, taking into account the early parliamentary elections on September 30 and the preparation for the future presidential elections in the USA.
As the press service of the Foreign Ministry informs, the sides exchanged opinions concerning the state and the prospective of the bilateral cooperation, having discussed, in particular, the question of political dialog, the trade-economic and the sector cooperation, cooperation in the sphere of energy security and defense, the resistance of weapon of mass distraction, and the questions of regional security.
The heads of foreign-policy departments of two countries also discussed the possible terms of visits at the high and the highest levels. In scope of their meeting Yatsenyuk invited Rice to visit Ukraine in the nearest time.
