President meets Croatian Speaker

President Victor Yushchenko on Thursday met with Croatia’s Parliament Speaker Vladimir Šeks, according to president's press office.

They praised close relations between the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Croatian Sabor. Yushchenko expressed hopes this cooperation would continue to develop.

The president urged Croatia to take part in infrastructure development projects to host the Euro 2012 finals and asked the Sabor to recognize Ukraine's Soviet-era famine as genocide.

Yushchenko invited Šeks to visit Ukraine after its snap poll.
