Cooperation between Ukraine and Russia should develop, Economy Minister believes

Cooperation between Ukraine and Russia must develop, Ukrainian Economy Minister Anatoly Kinakh believes. According to him, it is important not to lose cooperation we had, but to improve it under conditions of equal competition, “Cabinet press office” reported.

Kinakh stressed that in 2006 foreign trade turnover between Ukraine and the Russian Federation increased by 13% and the negative balance reduced by 615 million UAH. He expressed a hope that this positive trend will be preserved in 2007. As he went on, the share of Russia in Ukraine's foreign trade turnover amounts to 28%. Among challenges of such cooperation he named customs regulation. "For instance, mismatch of export-import operation notions, which makes problems in customs execution," he said.
