Ukraine predicts to attract UAH 37 milliard for championship Euro-2012 conduct


The Minister for family, youth and sport Viktor Korzh declares that measures for Ukraine’s participation in tender for conduct Europe football championship in 2012 will allow attracting UAH 37 milliard in infrastructure development. He told today at the press conference in the Cabinet of Ukraine.

“We hope Ukraine and Poland will win the tender. All know that it is important not only for funs but first of al for the whole country, because it is not only sport and healthy life-style popularization but also impulse for economy development,” he said.

The Minister noted that UAH 37 milliard will be attracted for infrastructure development of roads and railways, airport development and other service infrastructure.

According to him, the Government approved draft bill Euro-2012 and in the near future it will be submitted for consideration in the VR. “The draft bill regulates all arrangement and legal principles of activity of state and private institutions on preparations of this important activity,” Korzh noted.

Moreover Korzh informed that today the Government approved complex of technical and organization measures for participation of Ukraine in tender on for conduct Europe football championship.

According to the Minister, the main competitor of Ukraine and Poland is Italy that has full infrastructure for championship conduct. “We are trying to do all possible to win and we have real opportunities,” he stressed.

As a reminder, On June 25, 2005 Ukraine and Poland together applied for participation in tender for conduct of final part of championship of Europe 2012 in Ukraine.
