Ukraine and the EU start negotiations on new agreement

The first round of negotiations on new enhanced agreement between Ukraine and the EU takes place today in Brussels.

The deputy Foreign Minister Andry Veselovsky and the deputy general director on foreign policy of the European committee Hugues Mingarelli will discuss aims of new agreement, composition of working groups and meetings schedule.

The next negotiations on the level of department leaders will take place in Kyiv on April 2.

The objective of new agreement is creation of free trade zone, cooperation in justice, defense and security policy. At the same time Kyiv criticizes neighborhood policy, proposed by Brussels, and aspires to real integrations in the European society.
