The first sitting of the
interdepartmental working group to perform analysis of political, economic,
legal, social and financial aspects of Ukraine's participation in the CIS was
headed by acting Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko and Economy Minister Valeriy
Pyatnytskyi, “Cabinet press office” reported.
The event involved
participation of representatives of the Presidential Secretariat, the Cabinet
of ministers, the Economy Ministry, the Finance Ministry, the Justice Ministry
and the Transport and Communications Ministry, the Foreign Ministry's press
service told.
The participants
exchange opinion on the NSDC's resolution of November 17, 2006 "On further
cooperation within the framework of the CIS". The participants agreed
Ukraine's participation in the CIS should be based upon pragmatic grounds.
The participants stated
their ideas on optimization of Ukraine's participation in the CIS.
Next sitting of the
interdepartmental working group is scheduled for early April.
