World Bank to grant USD 140 million loan to Ukraine


The World Bank will grant USD 140 million loan for project realization “Municipal infrastructure development” to Ukraine in 2007.The first vice Prime Minister, the Finance Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov told today at the Finance Ministry session.

According to him, main part of the loan will be used for improvement of water supply system, overflow pipes and processing of solid wastes.

The project is planned to be carried out in Chernihiv, Donetsk, Ivano-Frankivsk and Odessa regions.

Azarov also noted that the loan within the project will be loaned up to communal enterprises with guarantees of municipal councils.

The funds are given for 20 years term with repayment days respite of five years/

Loan agreement will be signed between the Government of Ukraine and the International Bank on reconstruction and development.
