EU determined further relations with Ukraine


Council of Foreign Ministry of the EU made conclusions on negotiations with Ukraine on signing of new intensified agreement

In its document the council of Ministers of the EU decided that new intensified agreement should not foresee any concrete future development of bilateral relations.

At the same time the document notes that the EU admitted Ukraine’s aspiration in 2005. Moreover, it is said in conclusions that the EU will continue support political and economic reforms in Ukraine aimed at strengthening of democracy, stability and transparency in the country and wants to increase its obligations in these directions in new agreement.

According to the document, new agreement should be aimed at relations closing with Ukraine, economy integrity and political cooperation.

New intensified agreement should exchange acting agreement on partnership and cooperation which validity term expires in 2007.
