NATO striving to see intensified dynamics and more practical results of bipartite cooperation with Ukraine in 2007, NATO Secretary General claims

NATO seeks to notice intensification of dynamics and more practical results in cooperation with Ukraine in 2007, NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer told journalists. He also announced NATO's intentions to mark the 10th anniversary of ties between Ukraine and NATO.

Answering questions by Ukrinform's Brussels-based correspondent on character of bipartite relations between Ukraine and NATO, the Secretary General noted that NATO means to resume cooperation with Ukraine and provide it with further support. Jaap de Hoop Scheffer stressed the cooperation scales are up to the Government of Ukraine. He stressed partnership with Ukraine is of a unique character, which has been preserved so far. As a proof he stated Viktor Yanukovych's visit to Brussels, a meeting with Viktor Yushchenko and a telephone conversation with the President.

Jaap de Hoop Scheffer stated his hope both the President and the Prime Minister seek prolongation of successful cooperation with NATO, “Cabinet press office” informs.
