Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Czech Republic Borys
Tarasyuk and Karel Schwarzenberg signed Joint declaration on cooperation in
realization of Ukraine-EU Action Plan.
Press office of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry reported
that the mentioned declaration was signed as a result of negotiations between
official delegations of foreign departments of Ukraine and Czech Republic.
The parties discussed bilateral cooperation, regional collaboration,
including Visegrad Four and energy security. Ukraine and Czech Republic
expressed mutual interest in further bilateral dialogue and discussed schedule
of two-way visits at the high level this year.
Speaking about dynamics of Ukrainian-Czech relations,
Tarasyuk noted that Ukrainian-Czech trade and economic cooperation will be
intensified after holding the first session of the Ukrainian-Czech commission on
economic, industrial and scientific-technical cooperation in March in Kyiv.
The Ukrainian party thanked Czech Republic for
constant support of Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Ukraine
also hopes for the same support as regards new Ukraine-EU agreement and
ratification of Ukraine-EU agreements concerning readmission and visa regime.
Moreover, the parties discussed migration policy and
rights of Ukrainian citizens in Czech Republic. In particular, they agreed to
hold a conference on migration policy with participation of corresponding
ministries and departments from both countries in Prague in February.
After negotiations between official delegations of Foreign
Ministries of Ukraine and Czech Republic Tarasyuk and Schwarzenberg also signed
Consultation Plan between Foreign Ministry of Ukraine and Foreign Ministry if
Czech Republic for 2007-2008 years.
