Verkhovna Rada approved privatization of “Ukrtelecom”


People’s deputies of Ukraine gave a bill of Ukraine “On objects list of state property right, being subject to privatization in 2007” its second reading with President’s amendments. The ForUm’s correspondent informs.

294 people’s deputies voted for such bil.

According to Mykhaylo Chechetov the people’s deputy of Ukraine, the given law cancels restrictions and prohibitions on privatization of such investment attractive objects as “Ukrtelecom” and “Odessa port plant”.

Chechetov also noted that the law affirms objects list of state property right, being subject to privatization in 2007. At the same time this law charges the State Property Fund to develop and approve plan of some objects per each quarter and provides that share holdings, being included in the given list, are subject to sale the public bodies of privatization as to transparency of price formation.

According to Chechetov, for adoption of the given document the deputies considered almost all amendments of the President. To avoid wrecking of the fulfillment of the profit part of the budget for 2007, “only16 objects, excluded from the objects list forbidden to privatization, are in the law and there are 24 objects that are excluded from the list but can be corporatized, as the President demands.”
