Security Service of Ukraine successfully fights illegal migration

The Security Service of Ukraine expelled a 39-year old citizen of Sri Lanka from Ukraine, who assisted in masterminding illegal migration channel from South East Asia to EU countries, Security Service press center reported.

The offender was seeking apartments for rent in Kyiv to hide there illegals and was providing them with food. Two groups of migrants, whom he "was caring about" were detained and extradited home.

In general, in 2006 the Kyiv department of the Security Service of Ukraine liquidated seven channels of illegal migration, detained 181 migrants and instituted criminal proceedings against 15 persons for illegal carrying persons over.
