A memorial to Holodomor victims was erected in Zhytomyr region

A memorial sign to hundreds fellow-villagers died under Holodomor was erected in Yaropovychy village, Zhytomyr region.

Polis’ka Sich sponsored the construction. The marble cross was produced by Heorhiy Zynchuk, an entrepreneur from Korostyshev town.

Yuri Andriychuk, Zhytomyr Regional State Administration Chairman, outlined the great importance of the event. “It is not only a commemoration of Holodomor victims but also a warning for the next generations which do not let such tragedy to happen again,” stressed Andriychuk.

The memorial was sanctified by priest Oleksandr, a senior priest of Svyato-Dmytrivs’koho Temple.
