Kyiv tops the list of Ten Ukrainian Cities according to the HIV/AIDS rate

 The seventh place is given to Kyiv having 4072 HIV-infected persons, 314 of them are at the AIDS-stage. 150 patients died. 94 kids are HIV-infected, six infected children died.

These official data is only a top of iceberg as only clinically examined patients with clinically proved diagnosis and those who agree to undergo regular medical check-up may be officially registered in accordance to the legislation of Ukraine. Thereby, the real number of HIV-infected capital people exceeds the official data. According to different sources of info, it may reach 1.4% of the grown-ups aged 15-49 (about 40,000 persons).
