BYuT Onopenko heads the Supreme Court of Ukraine


Vasyl Onopenko, a BYuT member, has been elected a Chairman of the Supreme Court of Ukraine, the press service informed.

In the election run, Onopenko competed with another candidate Petro Pylypchuk who was nominated by the Criminal Court Chamber of Ukraine.

On September 28, President Yushchenko has held a meeting with the new appointee.

According to Supreme Court Chairman Onopenko, they addressed the pressing questions of the court branch of the power and the prospects and trends of the judicial reform in Ukraine.
