The President of Ukraine urged to investigate facts of discriminating VAT compensaions

In August, Azovstal, Avdeyevka By-Product Coke Plant, Yenakievo Metallurgical Plant got VAT compensation in amount of $72million out of $80 million allotted to Donetsk regional enterprises. These three enterprises are included in SCM (Donetsk). Kommersant-Ukraine out on Monday informs referring to Donetsk State Tax Administration.

“All funds have been allotted to Azovstal, Avdeyevka Koksokhim, Yenakievo Metzavod. Such enterprises as Illich’s Mariupol Metallurgical Plant have not got a single kopek,” the newspaper quoted a source.

Earlier, after the meeting with PM Yanukovich in the end of the last week, the President of Ukraine announced that he had commissioned the general Office of Public Prosecutor to investigate the facts of illegal VAT compensations in August. “According to him the compensations were discriminating by its character but the plan was met only to 76%. Volyn region was given only 2.7% out of scheduled plan, Kyiv region – 6%, Poltava region – 11%, Kyiv City – 16%, Crimea and Luhansk -130% and Donetsk region – 221%,” informs Kommersant-Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Finance Ministry denies such VAT compensation practice calling President’s statement “mere misunderstanding.”

However, some sources in the regions proved that the August register was filled with the enterprises which are loyal to current government.
