Ukraine and Russia agreed on cooperation in electric power sphere

Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Ministry Yuri Boyko during his working visit to Moscow on Wednesday met with board member of the Russian joint-stock company Unified Energy System of Russia (RAO UESR) Andrey Rappoport. On outcomes of the meeting the sides agreed to step up relations between the states in drafting and realization of a project of uniting CIS and UCTE energy systems, according to the Cabinet press service.

We should consider the previous experience of our mutually profitable cooperation. Today, Ukraine, as well as Russia, is interested in the development of long-term cooperation, Yuri Boyko said.

The parties also stated their interestedness in organization of long-term supplies of electric energy, produced by the Ukrainian NPPs to Russia. The parties also vetted supplies of electric power to Russia, produced at Ukrainian Heating-Power Plants from customer-owned raw Russian gas, taking into consideration technical and seasonal opportunities of Ukrainian generation.
