Ukrainian experts on the latest EU anti-dumping duty on the seamless pipes from Ukraine

Ukrainian experts reckon 25%of the EU anti-dumping duty imposed on Ukrainian seamless pipes to be groundless, rather tough and fatal for this field.

Even if the calculations were made according to the EU methods, the duty should not exceed 10%, the experts say.

The new rules dislodge Nikopol and Dnipropetrovs’k tube-rolling mills from the market. These plants exported to Europe near 80% of their total production.

It is still unknown how Ukraine’s Economy Ministry will react to it. But earlier, in March of 2006 Ukraine's Economy Minister Yatsenyuk announced that Ukraine would be forced to introduce appropriate restrictions for the European goods.
