President of Ukraine welcomes military graduates


Victor Yushchenko has held a reception for one hundred graduates of military and law enforcement schools.

He congratulated them on successfully completing their studies and wished them courage and healthy spirit, the president press service.

When addressing the military, the Head of State said he, as Commander-in-Chief, pinned hopes on their patriotism, professionalism, military discipline and knowledge. He added that their generation was destined to profoundly reform the Ukrainian army.

“It is a great challenge for the nation to have a competitive army,” he opined.

The President said Ukraine followed the European House concept, which is intent to help European countries to jointly formulate economic, political and defense policies.

Then the Head of State gave the graduates wristwatches.

Defense Minister Anatoly Hrytsenko, Interior Minister Yuryi Lutsenko, State Tax Office Head Oleksandr Kireyev, Security Chief Ihor Drizhchany, Acting NSDCU Secretary Volodymyr Horbulin and Colonel-General Serhiy Kyrychenko attended the reception.
