President of Ukraine meets UK Ambassador Robert Brinkly


June 14, President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko has met with British Ambassador Robert Brinkly, whose diplomatic term will expire soon.

The Head of State thanked Mr. Brinkly for his diplomatic service. He said Ukrainian-British relations were actively developing and expressed hope the two countries would build closer economic ties.

Victor Yushchenko said Ukraine appreciated Tony Blair’s visit in 2005, which helped improve our bilateral dialogue, the president press office reported.

The President reiterated that Ukraine was committed to its Euro-Atlantic aspirations and said he hoped Great Britain would support our ambitions to join EU and NATO.
