Ukraine and Turkmenistan to discuss gas debt settlement


March 23, Ukrainian delegation will leave for Turkmenistan to discuss the pressing questions of gas supply and payment, Ukraine PM Yuri Yekhanurov told.

PM Yekhanurov noted Ukraine would like the problem to be considered within the context of the preparation to the signing of the long-termed bilateral agreement. He expressed hope this agreement will be inked during the visit of Saparmurat Niyazov’ to Ukraine. According to the preliminary information, it may happen by the end of April or the beginning of May.

PM Yekhanurov said Ukrainian owes Turkmenistan somewhat more than $150 million which makes the price for monthly volume of Turkmen gas supply to Ukraine.
