Lutsenko to strengthen law enforcement bodies on election day

Minister of Internal Affairs Yuri Lutsenko pledged not to weaken law enforcement bodies' effort to combat crime during elections, NRCU reported.

As Lutsenko told journalists in Kyiv, on March 26 police patrols will be beefed up at polling stations.

Police officers will be very attentive to prevent any illegal political promotional activities on the election day, attempts to "buy" voters, other likely irregularities.

"I know about plans of certain political forces to stage street actions on Monday, March 27," he noted. "Though this is the Ukrainian people's constitution right, we will watch such public actions not to violate order and the Law," Lutsenko stressed.
