Yushchenko: We mustn’t bargain for positions before elections

In an interview with Silski Visti (Rural News), Victor Yushchenko said the terms of a coalition agreement can only be negotiated after the March 26 vote, President's press office reported.

“The ‘orange’ forces mustn’t discuss any positions before the election, for we cannot decide which position this or that leader will hold having no particular goals and not knowing election results,” he said.

The Head of State also opined that political parties should unite to uphold key principles determining our home and foreign policy and all politicians are to give up their personal ambitions and party interests for the sake of Ukraine. Besides, Yushchenko added that he would actively participate in coalition talks.

“This is my obligation and my responsibility for the country and its future,” he said.
