Cabinet may permit import of sugar in Ukraine

Tomorrow Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will consider the question about opening borders for foreign sugar, as reported Ukraine’s PM Yuri Yekhanurov during today’s press conference. If the decision is made, PM will sign it on Thursday.

Yekhanurov explained that the government’s intention is motivated by that native sugar traders do not meet their engagements. “We have been waiting for two weeks, but they have not met their obligations,” underlined the Premier.

Yekhanurov noted that by his today’s statement he gives a signal to sugar traders. “I am giving them a signal now, and they have several days to think about consequences of opening the borders,” said he.
