Ukraine to launch space satellite

Ukraine to launch space satellite


NCAU (National Space Agency of Ukraine) prepares the launch of Sich-2 in the beginning 2007, NCAU Director General Yuri Alekseyev told.

The launch will be held within the program of the new National Space Program for 2007-2011. The project has been done by Yuzhnoe the State Design Office.

The satellite is to observe the Earth and may be used in defence or agricultural interests. Sich-2 is the second class micro-satellite. The project costs $20 million.
