MIA supports open trial on Gongadze case

Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine does not object to open hearing of the Gongadze case.

PR Department of Ukraine’s MIA reported that deputy Interior Minister Petro Kolyada had delivered a corresponding letter to Kyiv Appeal Court Chairman Anton Cheremoshenko.

In particular, the letter says that “in connection with that the case has taken on public resonance, Ministry of Internal Affairs does not object to the open hearing.” At the same time the document says that the court should follow the law of Ukraine on state secret during the examination, in particular – not to divulge information about ways and methods of secret investigative activity and not to name officials of special operational divisions.
