US Ambassador John Herbst on RosUkrEnergo

The United States views the RosUkrEnergo Company’s operations with suspicion, United States Ambassador to Ukraine John Herbst said on Thursday.

"RosUkrEnergo is a suspicious organization, and it is difficult to understand why it plays such a significant role in such an important agreement," he said.

According to him, the United States does not understand why an intermediary is needed in a gas agreement between Ukraine and Russia, Ukrinform reported.

He said that RosUkrEnergo earned $3 billion last year and employs 12 people. According to him, it would be better if this $3 billion went into the coffers of Ukraine or Russia.
