President of Ukraine congratulates Olympic bronze winner

Victor Yushchenko congratulated Liliya Yefremova on coming third in today’s Olympic biathlon sprint. In his telegram, the President said he hoped this success would be a beginning of our achievements in Turin. The Head of Stateremarked thatthe bronze medal was precious to millions of Ukrainian fans, for it “proves that Ukrainians can fight and win.”

Liliya Yefremova did not miss a single target and came after Florence Beverel-Robert (France) and Anna Carin Olofsson (Sweden) in the 7.5-kilometer women’s sprint.
